I did it…

Well after lots of deliberation and questioning my energy levels, I went ahead and booked a stall at the Morningside Makers Market. It was a good day and lots of friends & family came to visit but I am not sure I would be in massive hurry to do it again. I have since discovered there is a vast amount of craft fairs which donate to charity. I think this a much better way of ‘doing your bit’ and meeting lovely crafty folk. The kids enjoy coming along too, so lots of reasons to carry on with the craft fair angle.

I recently took part in the Colinton Market Place, the proceeds go to Fresh Start an Edinburgh based charity which helps homeless people. It was a really busy day and the customers were so nice, lots of local Colinton ladies who were very encouraging about my range of stock. I passed on 20% of my takings to the charity, it is good to know that it will be spent locally.

I sold lots of my hanging hearts which started off as a pincushion and are now really just for decoration. They are made out of a few bits of Amy Butler & some old fabric that belonged to my mother-in-law (a pretty red ditsy pattern).

  1. Good for you! I’ve been pondering doing a craft show for a while now, but I’m super nervous about it so I’ve been putting it off. Maybe once the fall rolls around and people start thinking about buying warm and cozy knit goods I’ll get the courage to actually do it. Congrats!! 🙂
